SUPPORT GROUPS

The Victim Center offers a variety of therapy groups free-of-charge to victims of violent and sexual crimes and their loved ones.

The following groups are generally offered:

Sexual Assault Survivor Group: An 8-week support group for adult female survivors of rape, sexual assault, and childhood sexual abuse.

Child Parent Relationship-Therapy: For parents of children who have been victimized. Parents learn specific techniques for helping their children at home.

Coping Skills Group: An open, 3-week group that focuses on coping and relaxation skills to promote self-care and stabilization.

Family Violence Education Group: A 3-week group that focuses on the dynamics of family violence and recovery issues related to abusive relationships.

Expressive Art Therapy Group: A 6-week group for female survivors of rape, sexual assault, and childhood sexual abuse that focuses on the use of art and creativity to cope with experiences of victimization and trauma.

Pre-registration is required for all groups. Please call the office at 863-7273 to sign up for these groups or to find out details. Dates and times of these groups vary due to demand and facilitator schedules.

Other groups may be offered, based on need.
