The Victim Center relies on the tireless support of amazing volunteers to be able to offer its free-of-charge programs to thousands of crime victims each year. Whether your passion is direct work with victims or you prefer to offer behind-the-scenes support, we have a variety of opportunities for people who wish to lend their time to our mission of providing hope and healing to men, women, and children throughout southwest Missouri.
Our volunteer victim advocates are essential, front-line volunteers who provide victims with support, comfort, and resources in the aftermath of a crime. The Victim Center’s crisis hotline is open 24 hours per day, 365 days per year, thanks to our volunteer victim advocates. Learn more about volunteering as a victim advocate here.
The Victim Center hosts several large fundraisers each year, including a golf tournament, breakfast event, and – new in 2018 – an evening event called Wine Women and Shoes. Volunteer committees for each of these events work with our staff to ensure a fun and seamless event experience for attendees that results in maximum benefit to the clients served at The Victim Center. If you are interested in helping plan or staff one of our events, please contact our Director of Development and Marketing.
